What's New (will pop-up in new window)

These are 2 poems given to me by my cousin Sherry. Although they are old older than me), the feelings behind the words remain

What is a Grandmother? - Sherry

A Grandmother is someone special,
Someone who is always there

A person who is loving,
And always shows she cares.

A Grandma doesn't yell,
But says "Oh that's okay."

She doesn't loose her temper,
No matter what you say.

She helps you grow up,
To be that special someone she is.

To be that special Grandma
To your own grandkids.

Now if you had a Grandma,
A Grandma just like mine

You'd never want to sell her,
Not for a penny, nickel or dime.

My Grandma is special,
She's better than the rest.

I always have to tell her,
"Oh Grandma you're the best!"

So now I end my poem,
So full of joy and praise.

And give it to my Grandma,
So she'll know I love her for the rest of her days.

What is a Grandfather? - Sherry

Grandpa's are special,
In every way they are.

They help you learn the value of money,
So you can stretch it very far

They also help you out,
In any way they can.

To help you learn the facts of life,
Before you're even ten.

I said that Grandpa's are special,
I said that once before.

On a scale of 1 to 10,
My Grandpa's a ten for sure.
