Void - Monique

Emptiness fills the cavity of love
It reaches out and touches every crack, every crevice
Not knowing its impact on this poor being...
I lay in the waste of my own tears
That fall into the deep abyss of sorrows
Happiness no longer shines here...
You failed to catch my shooting star
It streaked the sky with the color of love I have for you
But, you were blind and careless...
Maybe I should have told you then how I truly felt for you
Maybe you wouldn't remain silent and distant from my heart
Maybe...
I can't seem to stop replaying happy memories of us in my mind
A shared dessert
A private dance
A night shared together
Too many, they overflow into my hands and I can't seem to let go...
Leave me, my thoughts, my heart, my soul
Let the pain you caused seep through my skin
and evaporate to the skies, where it will be converted
Into some other ailment...
This pain is a smart, cunning one
It disappears like it never existed, then it hides
In the depths of my heart, planning it's strike
Leaving me overwhelm with emptiness, this void.
